What is FMD and Why It’s Dangerous?
Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is a highly contagious viral disease affecting cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats, and pigs. It causes:
- High fever, blisters in mouth and feet
- Reduced milk production
- Weakness and weight loss
- Risk of animal death in severe cases
It spreads rapidly through infected saliva, air, feed, and contact.
